Pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR, Official Journal of the EU L 119/2016), we hereby inform you that:

  1. The controller of your personal data is Lazarski University, located at 43 Świeradowska Street, 02-662 Warsaw, Poland.
  2. The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted via email at iod@lazarski.edu.pl.
  3. Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of participation in the National Scientific Conference “Civil Law in the Face of Contemporary Challenges” on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a contract and taking steps prior to entering into a contract — and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, i.e. the legitimate interest consisting in maintaining contact with participants, promoting and developing science, shaping and promoting academic staff, and promoting the Controller’s educational activities. The data may also be processed in order to fulfil legal obligations imposed on the Controller under applicable law pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
  4. Personal data concerning voice and image may be processed for information, promotional, and documentation purposes related to the National Scientific Conference “Civil Law in the Face of Contemporary Challenges” on the basis of your consent. If you give your consent, we also have a legitimate interest in documenting organized events, which allows us to process your personal data pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  5. Your personal data will be stored by the Controller for the period necessary to fulfil your participation or until the limitation period for any potential claims expires.
  6. Recipients of personal data will be entities authorized to obtain such data under applicable law. Personal data may also be shared with entities providing ICT systems support for the Controller, as well as entities supplying IT tools or providing videoconferencing, postal, hosting, cloud, or document destruction services.
  7. Your personal data will not be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
  8. You have the right to request access to your personal data from the Controller, as well as the right to rectify, erase, or restrict the processing of your data, and the right to data portability. If you have given consent, you also have the right to withdraw it by sending a statement to the following email address: iod@lazarski.edu.pl.
  9. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
  10. You have the right to object, at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  11. Providing personal data is necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected. Failure to provide the data may result in the inability to participate in the event.
  12. Your personal data will not be transferred to a third country or international organization unless required by the Controller’s legal obligations.
